President Donald Trump confirmed that he will be at Naval Station Norfolk on Sunday to join a 250th anniversary celebration for the service .

Trump posted on his Truth Social social media site that he will join Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Navy Secretary John Phelan at the event. First Lady Melania Trump will also be in attendance.

A White House official told The Washington Post on Tuesday that Trump would be in Norfolk on Friday — the original date of the anniversary event — before it was moved to Sunday.

The event, “Titans of the Sea: A Salute to the Fleet,” will feature thousands of sailors in their whites. Veterans and their families are also invited to the event, which a Navy spokesperson described as “massive.”
