CRANFORD, N.J. (PIX11) -- Funeral services were held on Friday for one of the two teens killed in Monday's tragic hit-and-run in Cranford.
Their deaths have sparked conversations about how the tragedy might have been prevented.
17-year-old friends Maria Niotis and Isabella Salas were killed Monday evening while riding their bikes down Burnside Avenue.
Police are continuing to investigate whether the act was intentional.
Maria's friends told PIX11 News that the 17-year-old driver had stalked her and wanted to date her.
It is unclear if she sought help, but the law, it turns out, wouldn't have offered much protection.
