The missing man that led police to the scene of the crash in Simsbury, where they pulled him from the vehicle and transported him to a hospital has died, Simsbury police said.

Simsbury police said they originally received a call just after 8 a.m. Tuesday reporting that a 44-year-old man, later identified as Colin, Stephenson, did not return home on Monday night.

Officers were able to determine that Stephenson had been involved in a crash and they found the vehicle had gone off the road in a wooded area of Overlook Terrace near Bushy Hill Road, police said.

They treated Stephenson, extricated him from the vehicle and transported them to St. Francis Hospital where he later died, according to police.
