TEXARKANA, Texas (KSLA) - Band students at Pleasant Grove High School in Texarkana, Texas got a big surprise Friday morning (Oct. 3) when the district rolled out a new equipment truck.
The big rig was purchased thanks to community donations and work by the band’s Booster Club; it did not cost the district any money. Band director Jay Sutton says this donation will make travel for his growing band much easier.
“It’s all outfitted to fit every single thing we can possibly travel with, so we are real excited to move to this from four separate vehicles we were traveling with earlier and it is a lot safer to load and instead of taking eight drivers with four buses and trailers, now we are down to five,” Sutton said.
