SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - The mayor of Shreveport went “over the edge” to raise money to build affordable housing in the city and to revitalize the community.
On Friday, Oct. 3, Mayor Tom Arceneaux rappelled down the 15-story Fairmont Apartments in downtown Shreveport as part of the Over the Edge fundraiser. The event is put on by the Fuller Center for Housing Northwest Louisiana and Shreveport Common .
“I thought it was a good way to test my energy and test my courage and it was. I’m glad I did it,” the mayor said.
The Fairmont Apartments just recently reopened after undergoing $22 million in renovations.
