NANAKULI, Hawaii (Island News) -- Honolulu police opened an arson investigation into the house fire on Thursday in Nanakuli.

The fire took place at a single-story home on Farrington Highway in Nanakuli on Thursday morning, Oct. 2. The Honolulu Fire Department responded to the fire and fully extinguished it in just under an hour.

A fire investigator said the house fire was intentionally set. An unknown man is suspected to have started the fire, according to the Honolulu Police Department.

Firefighters extinguished a house fire at the same address on Wednesday, Oct. 1, but in a different and separate unit.

No arrests have been made at this time as police investigate this first-degree arson case.
