AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - A suspect is in custody, and deputies are searching for two others after a man was injured Friday in the second shooting in two days in Augusta.

The shooting happened around 9:30 a.m. at Curry Street and Browns Lane behind a Family Dollar that faces Broad Street.

Deputies said the victim was approached by a vehicle, and the victim was shot. Then the vehicle left the scene.

Mistakenly released double murderer captured in Georgia

A 60-year-old convicted murderer was mistakenly released from jail in Florida. Days later, authorities tracked him down to Georgia.

The victim, a 39-year-old Augusta man, suffered multiple gunshot wounds, but was able to make it to a business on Broad Street to call for help.

The victim was taken to Wellstar MCG hospital by emergency
