MASCOUTAH — Senior defensive back Camren Reed recorded his first touchdown of the season, and it helped the Mascoutah Indians win their fourth consecutive game.
The Indians defeated the Triad Knights 16-7 in a defensive slugfest Friday night in a Mississippi Valley Conference football game on Alumni Field.
A nifty fireworks display went off after the game, helping a near-capacity crowd of 3,000 celebrate the homecoming win in style.
“We talked all week that the best way to celebrate homecoming was with a ‘W,' ” Mascoutah coach Aaron Hilgendorf said. “The kids battled and prepared. We showed so much grit and toughness down the stretch. We overcame a really good team and that means a ton.”
