LATHAM, NY (NEWS10) -- Following a loss to Saratoga Springs last week, the Shaker football team bounced back in a big way beating Albany 35-14 to improve to 2-1 in Class AA play.

The Falcons entered the matchup 3-1 overall, 1-1 in league play and got out of the gates fast in this one. Albany won the toss, chose to take the ball first and made it count when Kahlil Beckett took a sweep play 68 yards to the house on just the 3rd play from scrimmage to put the Falcons in front 6-0.

Shaker would go 3-and-out on their opening drive, and the Falcons were looking to take advantage as the offense moved quickly into Blue Bison territory. However, a fumbled snap, recovered by Shaker, flipped the momentum. From there, the Blue Bison would put up 5 unanswered touchdowns to take control of the contest
