Carlo Ancelotti has already given Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim a glowing review of the club's reported target Jarrad Branthwaite. The current Brazil boss helped sign Branthwaite from Carlisle United during his time as Everton manager.

United hold a long-term interest in Branthwaite and are claimed to view the Everton star as a long-term solution at centre-back. Despite the 23-year-old signing a new deal in the summer, the Mirror reports that United could look to test the club's resolve with a £65million offer in the January transfer window.

Amorim has regularly switched his centre-backs at the start of the new season. Harry Maguire is in the final year of his contract and it is claimed the United boss is also thought to have doubts over Lisandro Martinez
