KELSO — To those who know Kelso Hilander football best, the bread-and-butter begins with its always-physical front.
When the offensive line creates opportunities, the running game capitalizes.

Punch is what the Hilanders did start to finish in a 35-22 victory to open 3A Greater St. Helens League play Friday night.
It might’ve been the league opener for both teams, but the Scotties (4-1 overall, 1-0 league) know what it means to take a game over the reigning 3A GSHL champion Plainsmen (2-3, 0-1).
“Humongous” is how Hanson described it.
“This game,” Hanson said, “it’s been talked about since the start of this year. “It’s huge — first league win, first league game.”
