NORCO — The Murrieta Valley football team faced a double-digit deficit less than 8 minutes into Friday night’s league opener.
The Nighthawks didn’t panic, however.
Jeremiah Watson ran for 254 yards and scored five touchdowns, and Erick Romo made a momentum-changing interception in the fourth quarter as Murrieta Valley rallied for a 55-45 win over Norco in a Big West Conference-North Division game Friday evening.
In addition to the 100 points scored, the teams combined for 1,091 yards of total offense (551 by Norco; 540 by Murrieta Valley).
Murrieta Valley is no stranger to high-scoring affairs, and more often than not the Nighthawks find a way to come out on top.
