Mumbai: Maharashtra is bracing for Cyclone Shakti, the first cyclonic storm of the season in the Arabian Sea, which is intensifying and is expected to impact several coastal and interior districts. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued high to moderate cyclone warnings from October 3 to October 7, 2025.
Coastal areas including Mumbai, Thane, Palghar, Raigad, Ratnagiri, and Sindhudurg are expected to experience strong winds ranging from 45 to 55 km/h, with gusts up to 65 km/h, along with very rough sea conditions. Interior regions, including East Vidarbha and parts of Marathwada, are also likely to receive heavy rainfall.
