New York bucked a key national trend showing vaccination coverage eroding across the United States at the same time measles cases are surging, according to new county-level data compiled from state health agencies.

While at least three out of four counties nationally have vaccination coverage below 95% — an immunity threshold experts say is needed to prevent widespread outbreaks — New York has only eight of its 62 counties, or about 13%, below that minimum threshold, data show.
