Flights will resume from Lengpui Airport after safety clearance is obtained from DGCA
Flight operations at Mizoram’s lone Lengpui Airport continue to remain suspended for the second day today after damage was detected on the runway earlier this week.
According to official sources, the disruption occurred when an IndiGo aircraft bound for Guwahati reportedly scraped the edge of the runway during take-off on Friday, October 3, causing visible damage to the surface. Following the incident, all incoming flights from Kolkata and Delhi were cancelled as a precautionary measure.
Airport authorities have confirmed that emergency repair work is currently being carried out by the Public Works Department (PWD) to restore the affected portion of the runway. However, no official announcement has yet
