A man has been charged with attempted murder in Middlesbrough. Alex Ibbetson is due to appear at Teesside Magistrates’ Court.

The 33-year-old has been charged following reports of a serious assault on Richmond Court in Grove Hill , Middlesbrough on Thursday, October 2. Ibbetson is charged with attempted murder and common assault.

A 68-year-old man was taken to hospital with a serious head injury where he currently remains in a critical condition, a Cleveland Police spokesperson confirmed. Ibbetson, of Cedarwood Glade, Stainton , Middlesbrough, is set to appear at the Middlesbrough court on Saturday, October 4.
