Lutz Pfannenstiel is in Aberdeen to hold talks over their director of football role. ‌

The German is also in discussions with Borussia Monchengladbach over their sporting director position. ‌

The Dons have since upped the ante after the Bundesliga side made their move earlier this week. ‌

The 52-year-old has recently left St Louis City.

Pfannenstiel had previously declared his interest in the Pittodrie job.

He has flown in for discussions with chairman Dave Cormack and chief executive Alan Burrows. ‌

Pfannenstiel took in the young Dons’ Aberdeenshire Cup final win over Inverurie Locos and is expected to remain in the city over the weekend.
