Florida football welcomes No. 7 Texas to Gainesville for the first time in 85 years when it hosts the Longhorns at The Swamp on Oct. 4.

The Florida Gators (1-3, 0-1 SEC) are 0-3-1 all-time against the Longhorns. In the last meeting between the two schools in Gainesville, Texas shut out Florida 26-0 on Dec. 7, 1940.

The two schools will play more frequently now that Texas (3-1, 0-0 SEC) has joined the SEC. The Gators are looking to avenge a 49-17 loss to the Longhorns on Nov. 9, 2024 in Austin, Texas, last season.

Florida enters the matchup on a three-game losing streak and is 20-22 in four seasons under head coach Billy Napier. Coming off an open week, the Gators are looking to get an offense that has scored just three touchdowns over its last three games on track.
