Hollywood actor Jim Mitchum has died at the age of 84.
Jim, who was the son of legendary actor Robert Mitchum and known for his role in cult classic Thunder Road, died at his ranch in Skull Valley, Arizona following a long illness, a family spokesperson announced.
His wife Pamela and their poodle were said to be by his side when the dad-of-four died on September 20.
The actor followed in the footsteps of his father, who was nominated for an Oscar, but paved a career of his own in Hollywood, writes the Mirror .
His most notable movie was the 1958 cult classic Thunder Road, with a part originally written for Elvis Presley .
