NEW ORLEANS — New Orleans police are investigating a double fatal shooting after a man and a woman were found shot dead Saturday morning in the Seabrook neighborhood of New Orleans East.

The New Orleans Police Department said officers responded to the 7200 block of Cannonbury Drive at about 7:35 a.m.

According to initial reports, an adult male and an adult female were discovered at the scene with gunshot wounds and were pronounced dead by EMS.

NOPD detectives are working to gather evidence in the investigation. NOPD detectives tell WWL Louisiana that the man was 25 years old and the woman was 26 years old.

Police said no further information is available.
