Udupi, Oct 4: The Udupi district administration has suspended three teachers who failed to report for duty as enumerators in the ongoing Social and Educational Survey being conducted by the Karnataka State Backward Classes Commission.

Udupi Deputy Commissioner Swaroop T.K. issued the suspension order on Friday. The suspended teachers have been identified as Surekha and Ratna, both from the Government High School in Inna Kadu, and Prabha B., a lecturer at the Government Pre-University College, Udyavara.

According to the district administration, the teachers were appointed as enumerators for the survey but refused to accept their appointment orders despite being contacted over the phone. Notices were issued to them seeking an explanation, but the teachers failed to respond or provide a val
