The intersection of U.S. 231 and Cline Avenue, at the east edge of St. John, will close for an anticipated seven weeks to allow for utility infrastructure relocation ahead of the roundabout construction planned for 2026, according to NIPSCO and the Indiana Department of Transportation.

The closure could be extended if work is delayed by weather, NIPSCO said.

The utility also said electric service may be interrupted at times during work. NIPSCO said it "will monitor the system while critical work is being performed."

The official detour will direct traffic along 101st Avenue, Parrish Avenue, 117th Avenue, Burr Street and Fathke Road.
