SEATTLE — A 95-year-old Seattle woman is making history again — this time for her unmatched pickleball skills.

Joyce Jones of Seattle was recognized by Guinness World Records as the oldest female competitive pickleball player in the world — for the second year in a row.

“I actually did break my record. And I will be in the 2025 book this year,” Jones said.

Now 95-and-a-half years old, Jones said she still plays mainly for fun.

“I do have other activities, but I love pickleball,” she said with a laugh.

Jones’ connection to pickleball goes back to the sport’s roots. She and her husband were friends with Washington Congressman Joel Pritchard , who invented pickleball in 1965 at his Bainbridge Island home.
