New York has been ranked the fifth most expensive state to own a dog, according to a recent study.

The Empire State tied with Connecticut in fifth place, based on the cost of dog walkers, boarding, and doggy daycare, according to the study by Tractor Supply, a national chain with more than 2,300 stores across the country that offers a large variety of pet supplies.
