A Leominster man has pleaded guilty to manslaughter in connection with an overdose death in Fitchburg last year .

On Tuesday, Eric Stone, 39, pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter, distribution of a Class A Substance (fentanyl) and distribution of cocaine, Worcester County District Attorney Joseph D. Early, Jr.’s office said in a statement.

Judge William Ritter sentenced Stone to four to five years in state prison on the manslaughter conviction, as well as two years of probation on the distribution convictions, to run after the prison sentence.

On June 20, 2024, Massachusetts State Police detectives learned of the unattended death of a man at a home in Fitchburg, Early’s office said.

The man, 44, was given cocaine and fentanyl earlier that day by Stone, detectives determined.
