HUNTINGTON, Texas (KTRE) - A 17-year-old is behind bars after a vehicle pursuit ended near Huntington.

The chase began on State Highway 103 when Angelina County deputies were called to a disturbance, according to a release from the Huntington Police Department. Police said Preston Blake Heard, of Huntington, took off, and deputies followed.

DPS joined the pursuit along FM 1669 towards Huntington, until a police officer was able to spike the vehicle, slowing it down. The release says authorities used a pit maneuver to force Heard to come to a stop.

He was booked into the Angelina County Jail Saturday on charges of evading arrest, unauthorized use of a vehicle and minor in possession. His bond for these charges has been set at $30,500.
