SEATTLE -- The Mariners will be without their ace for the beginning of their postseason run.

Bryan Woo , who has been out since exiting his Sept. 19 start in Houston with right pectoral tightness, is not on the 26-man roster for Saturday's Game 1 of the American League Division Series against the Tigers.

Manager Dan Wilson had already named his first two starters for the series, tabbing George Kirby to start Saturday evening and Luis Castillo to take the ball opposite Tarik Skubal on Sunday for Game 2.
