EL RENO, Okla. (KFOR) — The Caldwell Collection, featuring over 20 classic aircraft from the Golden Age of Aviation, will be opening to the public on October 4th at the El Reno Regional Airport, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, exhibits, and live restoration demonstrations.
The collection includes several Waco biplanes and a Stearman PT-17 trainer, and is housed in a fully restored 1943 WWII hangar.
"Organizers encourage attendees to arrive early and bring collapsible chairs, hats, sunglasses, sunscreen, and hearing protection. Spectators are allowed to bring bottled water. Food trucks will also be on site."
The grand opening event coincides with the airport's 6th Annual Fly-In and Community Day, which will feature live restoration demonstrations, up-close exhibits, and discovery flights
