OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — The man at the center of a traffic stop that left him in the hospital has died.

Lich Vu passed away Friday night, according to his attorney Devon M. Jacob.

He had been bedridden since the incident related to his encounter with Former Officer Gibson in October of 2024.

News 4 received exclusive footage during a traffic stop in Oklahoma City. Officer Gibson was caught on camera slamming the 71-year-old man to the ground on October 27, 2024.

This happened after a verbal argument between the two after Vu tried to explain that he did not need a ticket for allegedly making an improper U-turn.

Vu suffered a C1 fracture, an orbital fracture, and a brain bleed as a result of the incident. He had surgery and has been in poor health ever since then.
