“Roll Tide” has man meanings in Tuscaloosa, as Nick Saban explained this week.
When it came to ESPN’s “College GameDay” and the panel picking the winner of Saturday’s Alabama-Vanderbilt game, well, it means a Tide victory.
“Two words: Roll Tide,” Desmond Howard said when making his pick.
“Two more: Roll Tide,” Saban countered.
“Might join the party here: Roll Tide,” Kirk Herbstreit chimed in.
Just to drive the point home, however, the 73-year-old Saban stole Pat McAfee’s thunder when McAfee was making his over-the-top pick. When McAfee stood on the desk, Saban stepped on his chair to join in a Tuscaloosa-wide “Roll Tide.”
Theo Von, the celebrity guest picker and noted Vanderbilt fan, went against the grain and had jokes for Saban.
