Scientists have delivered a stark warning regarding a worrying rise in newborns suffering from antibiotic-resistant infections. Whilst the studied conditions were previously believed to primarily affect older infants, researchers now claim they are striking babies during their 'first days of life'.

The fresh research , carried out by Australia's University of Sydney , analysed nearly 15,000 blood samples from poorly infants in 2019 and 2020. These samples were gathered from 10 hospitals spanning five Southeast Asian nations, including Indonesia and the Philippines.
