STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The Petrides Panthers are making their case as the team to beat in the PSAL 1A division, improving to 3-0 in league play and 5-0 overall with a 36-6 home win over Information Technology HS on Saturday in Sunnyside.
It briefly looked like the Panthers might be in for a test after fumbling on their first play from scrimmage, a mistake that led to a quick 6-0 Blackhawks lead on the ensuing drive. But Dave Olah’s squad refused to be rattled, responding with touchdowns through the air, on the ground, and even on defense as they roared back with 36 unanswered points.
