According to Forbes.com , the brilliant harvest moon — the first of fall in the Northern Hemisphere — will turn full on Monday, Oct. 6, and will be on full display in North America at moonrise on Tuesday, Oct. 7. It will be the first of four “supermoons” in a row to round out 2025.

Generally defined as 10% closer to Earth than the average moon, a supermoon event makes the full moon appear slightly larger and brighter. This particular harvest moon will be 224,599 miles from Earth, experts note, making it the third-closest of 2025.
