TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Hundreds came out to the Vigo County Fairgrounds, tasting all different kinds of chili and supporting "chili for the kids".

"Some with a little bit of sweet. Some with a little bit of spice. So far, the sheet metal workers I think had the hottest chili so far," said community member William Penrod.

Many people came out to try a variety of chili on Saturday in Terre Haute and one particular booth was very popular, the chefs from Terre Haute South Vigo High School's culinary class. All of the food was homemade by the class, and their chili was halfway gone by 1pm.

"Beans, there's chili, tomato paste. It's pretty good. Everyone said it's pretty good," said culinary student Mauricia Lucas.
