TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Indiana Comptroller Elise Nieshalla visited Terre Haute on Saturday.
Nieshalla said Indiana is now the fourth lowest debt per capita state in the nation.
This event was hosted by the Vigo GOP, a Vigo County Republican Party, as part of their monthly breakfast gatherings. The event was held at the Grand Traverse Pie Company.
Nieshalla said the relationship between state and local government is of the utmost importance.
"Our partnership with local government is absolutely essential because we distribute the taxes. Not property taxes, but all the other taxes that the state collects on behalf of counties, cities, towns, and school districts.
