CHICAGO (WGN) — A shooting on Chicago’s West Side left one man dead and another injured on Saturday afternoon.
Police say the shooting occurred just after 2 p.m. in the 100 block of South Pulaski Road in the Garfield Park neighborhood.
A 21-year-old man and a 29-year-old man were standing on the sidewalk when an unknown offender approached, pulled out a firearm and fired shots at both victims.
The 21-year-old sustained gunshot wounds to the groin and torso. He was taken to Mount Siani Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The 29-year-old was shot in the right and left arm. He was also taken to Mount Siani Hospital, where he was reported to be in fair condition.
Area Four Detectives are investigating.
