BROADVIEW, Ill. (WGN) — A protest is underway outside the Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE) processing center in suburban Broadview Saturday evening, drawing a growing crowd and heightened emotions.

The demonstration began at 4 p.m., and within the first hour, about 100 people had gathered, with the number continuing to rise. Protesters shouted at federal agents as they entered and exited the facility, moving through barricades that were set up last week.

Saturday’s action is part of an ongoing wave of demonstrations — daily for the past two weeks and sporadically over the last six weeks — sparked by Operation Midway Blitz, a federal immigration enforcement campaign.
