SUMTER, S.C. — An adult and a juvenile are recovering from gunshot wounds following a Saturday morning shooting in Sumter.
The Sumter Police Department said officers responded to reports of gunfire around 10:45 a.m. in the area of Crosswell Drive and Yeadon Street. Authorities learned that an adult and two juveniles were walking in the area when someone opened fire from a passing vehicle.
Police said the adult and one juvenile were shot but added that their injuries didn't appear to be life-threatening. The injured juvenile was taken to Prisma Health Tuomey for treatment, while the adult received treatment at the scene. The second juvenile wasn't struck by gunfire.
