MAURY COUNTY, Tenn. (WSMV) - Two people were injured and had to be flown to Nashville after a crash on Friday night, according to the Maury County Fire Department.

MCFD responded to Old Natchez Trace Road near Sutherland Road just after 9 p.m. on Friday for reports of a crash.

The vehicle had driven off the Natchez Trace Parkway and hit the bridge structure below the road, trapping one of the two occupants in the vehicle.

Additional emergency personnel then responded to the scene as crews worked to free the trapped victim, using hydraulic tools to remove the side of the vehicle, MCFD said.
