ANN ARBOR, Mich. — When Michigan football needed an offensive spark, Donaven McCulley rose up and gave it one.

The fifth-year wide receiver showed why he was treated as the Wolverines’ No. 1 option all offseason, hauling in six catches for 112 yards and a touchdown — his first in the maize and blue — in Michigan’s 24-10 win over Wisconsin on Saturday.

McCulley’s big plays came at a critical time, too, with Michigan clinging to a 10-7 lead in the third quarter and needing help. “I feel like we really needed those just to get this ball rolling,” McCulley said.

Michigan coach Sherrone Moore called it a “breakout game” for McCulley, a transfer from Indiana, who had receptions of 33 and 29 yards during Michigan’s critical third-quarter touchdown drive.
