ANN ARBOR, Mich. — With drops mounting for the Michigan wideouts this year, the coaching staff turned to the bench.
And a freshman stepped up.
Andrew Marsh not only earned his first career start in Michigan’s 24-10 win over Wisconsin on Saturday, but he proved critical in helping ignite a dormant passing attack. His four catches for 80 yards earned a postgame shoutout from head coach Sherrone Moore, who praised the young player for his early production.
“He’s continued to learn the playbook, learned what he’s supposed to do, but he’s continued to make plays,” Moore said. “We had that opportunity week (during the bye), and he was a guy that just kept standing out, kept making plays.”
