Allegheny County Police were trying to establish the identify a woman whose body was found in the Monongahela River in West Homestead on Saturday.
Police said in a news release that shortly after noon, 9-1-1 was notified that a body had been found in the river.
First responders located the body and removed it from the river. It was determined that the body was that of an adult female and that the body displayed no obvious signs of injuries.
It was turned over to the county medical examiner’s office, which will determine a cause and manner of death.
