After seeing more than 400 runners and walkers off at the start of Run For Sobriety in Brookswood, founder Josh Baron took a moment to talk about how the fundraiser for mental health began.
"Five years ago, I was really struggling with addiction," Baron told the Langley Advance Times.
"It just had a real grip on me, didn't have a way out, but one day, [I] just knew I needed to move," Baron recalled. "I kind of had this overwhelming feeling that I needed to get out the door. I put on some running shoes and went for a run. That first run was awful, but slowly and surely every day, it just felt like the noise in my head was getting quieter, and I kept going."
