MOREHEAD CITY, N.C. (WITN) - The 39th annual North Carolina Seafood Festival was a fishy and delicious scene, with lots of local seafood vendors, rides, education, and much more.

From crab cakes to gator bites, it was all in Morehead City on Saturday.

Thousands of people roamed the blocked off streets on the waterfront, trying foods and shopping with family and friends.

The North Carolina Marine Fisheries Commission was out and teaching people about fish and new regulations. NC Division of Marine Fisheries spokeswoman Patricia Smith told WITN the new requirement is that those who recreationally catch and keep red drum, flounder, spotted seatrout (speckled trout), striped bass, and weakfish (gray trout) must report what they keep to the NC Division of Marine Fisheries.
