LAS VEGAS (KLAS) -- A motorcyclist is in critical condition after a crash in the north Las Vegas valley Saturday afternoon, according to Metro police.

Around 2:40 p.m., officers responded to the area of Ann Road and Old Grove Way near Decatur Boulevard after a report of a crash involving a motorcycle and an SUV, police said.

The motorcyclist was taken to a local hospital, where they are in critical condition. LVMPD fatal detectives will take over the investigation, according to Metro police.

Ann Road was closed in both directions from Bradley Road to Decatur Boulevard, according to RTC Southern Nevada. Drivers are asked to avoid the intersection and use alternate routes.
