SCRANTON, Pa. — County officials tell Newswatch 16 that the Steamtown National Historic Site is closed due to the shutdown.
Despite the website displaying open hours, people from across our area and further afield showed up at the station only to be met with a closed sign.
Frank Daley, from Philadelphia, said, "The website says open. Closes at 6...If you want my honest opinion, I don't think the democrats had much choice but to close the government. They had to make a stand at some point. Okay? Whether I like it or not, I think it was the right thing to do for them."
