HUNTINGTON -- Alvaro Alvarez said he'll leave it up to coach Chris Grassie to decide whether he's earned more playing time for the Marshall University men's soccer team.
The freshman grinned and hesitated when asked if he thought about being on the field more.
"I don't know," Alvarez said after scoring twice to help the Thundering Herd to a 3-1 victory over Georgia State Saturday night at Hoops Family Field. "I don't know."
Grassie said Alvarez pushed him to consider sending the youngster out on the pitch more often.
"It was a nice finish," Grassie said of Alvarez's second goal. "Did he score two tonight? Look at him. Look at him. He's saying [with his actions], 'You should've been playing me more all season.'"
