The patient build up in Cameron Green’s bowling return will take its biggest strides this weekend when he bounds in for the first time in over a year.
Green headlines Australia’s Test stars building fitness and form in the Sheffield Shield opener, starting on Saturday.
The all-rounder hasn;t bowled in a game since having major back surgery in 2024, which ruled him out last summer’s Test showdown against India.
He didn’t return to Test cricket until the World Test Championship final loss to South Africa at Lord’s in July, but played as a batter only.
But with the first Ashes Test less than 50 days away, Green confirmed he’d deliver eight overs for Western Australia as part of his loading for the showdown with England.
