Duke football linebacker Bradley Gompers has been ejected after he was charged with targeting in the first quarter of the Blue Devils ' game vs Cal.

Gompers was charged with targeting after tackling Cal wide receiver Jordan King after a first-down catch. The targeting call gave Cal a first-and-goal at the Blue Devils ' 7-yard line, which the Golden Bears turned into a touchdown two plays later.

Gompers, a true freshman, entered the game for an injured Tre Freeman two plays in. He will be disqualified for the remainder of Duke vs. Cal.

Gompers recorded two solo tackles and a tackle for loss prior to his ejection.

Duke trailed Cal 14-7 at the end of the first quarter of the game being played at California Memorial Stadium in Berkely, California, in an Atlantic Coast Conference contest.
