Bread of the Mighty Food Bank hosts “Bourbon and Brisket” fundraiser for hungry families

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - Volunteers from a Gainesville food bank helped to raise tens of thousands of dollars for hungry families.

Leaders of “Bread of the Mighty” say they raised $33,000 at the Bourbon and Brisket event.

Around a hundred people visited the alchemy club last weekend, where they tried bourbon, ate barbecue, and talked about efforts to end hunger in North Central Florida.

They said donations will help make nearly 200,000 meals.
